One would think that the Forgotten Gods would be angry - seething with rage at being relegated to a footnote in history. But their anger abated decades ago. Now they seethe and plot their revenge on the uppity bipedal race that strives for deeper knowledge even as it eats its own on a daily bases.

The return to relevance is what drives their vengeance their delusion that they can ever eclipse a sewer rat in the minds of humanity.

The Forgotten Gods bad always been malicious, treating humans with disdain as they found their amusement through the trials of individuals cast into trepidations pearl.

In times when fire was still magical, when the rumbling of the sky was a dangerous growl, humans were willing puppets whose movements needed neither hand nor string. Blinded through their arrogance, The Forgotten gods dismissed the words and studies of Socrates and Archimedes, unaware of the groundwork being laying. Of the light being cast into hungry minds who deemed of revolution

The revolution is now over, some Forgotten Gods have  succumbed to despair, struggling to rediscover the grandeur of their lost identity.

Some have tumbled so far, that they have fallen into the roles of utilitarian drudgery, so deeply lost beneath the roles of relevance, that they know hold up the crumbling infrastructure - so long in neglect - no one ever visits.
