The last half of 2010 witnesses the deconstruction of my work. Meaning that instead a painting with a large narrative scope, I began to focus on aspects of the whole. Views of feet to wast; crowds consisting of heads and hats or simply midsections.

In late November I began the Manikin Dream series that takes the idea of deconstruction to a whole new level both artistically and as a true narrative ( you will note that words are incorporated into each piece.) The manikins in question begin as parts, and through a series of paintings and sketches both the manikins in body and in mind slowly take form. In this case deconstruction lead to an exploration of the nature of creation.

Throughout these lines of exploration I still find time to do exploration portraits that reveal the inner nature of my subjects. These paintings are my touchstones that I return to as a way of centering myself.

I am looking forward to what 2011 will bring.
