Sorrow

Fifteen night-falls since the exodus from the city of man, sorrow still crippled many of the kinsfolk. Some to the point of physical exhaustion and others, experiencing a dull, functional throb that kept them aware of all that moved and of the shadows where danger could lurk.
Now, upon this fifteenth day, the paused to mourn these fallen few and discuss what they should do if this fate should ever befall them again. For now they just tried to stay ahead of the pursuit they feared could not be far behind, so they continued on, desperate for a respite.
